Mailing list deactivated, web site cleaned up
Saturday, 28 January 2017
This site was dedicated to the m68k-amigaos builds of Directory Opus, which haven't been updated in 14 years. The mailing list has been deactivated today, and the site has had some obsolete and/or incomplete parts removed.

The AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS ports of Directory Opus 4 (which were never featured here) can be found at Aminet and os4depot, but both of these efforts seem to have been abondoned by now aswell. The source code repository is still located at Sourceforge.

This site will stay online in its current state until the hosting provider decides to pull it. It's stilll the only place that hosts the beta versions of the never released Directory Opus 4.17, which seems to be of interest to a few users. If you need to get in touch with the webmaster, use Sourceforge to contact the maintainer of the Directory Opus project, or get in touch with the Aminet team using Aminet's official contact address.

Directory Opus 4 Status Update
Thursday, 08 September 2004
Jacek currently lacks the time to continue work on Directory Opus 4. Here's Jacek's original Statement:

"The development is on hold and I have no idea when I'll resume it. The GUI changes towards BOOPSI are only partially completed and I'm stuck on handling RMB on bankbuttons. Intuition doesn't pass RMB clicks to BOOPSI gadgets so I have to find a way to emulate it and notify gadgets manually.

If someone needs an updated version for AOS4 or even a native AOS4 version then feel free to get sources from the CVS at sourceforge.net then modify and compile them. The BOOPSI changes are not committed to the CVS so the sourcetree should compile and work."

If you'd like to have a go at compiling (or even improving) Directory Opus, it might be a good idea to subscribe to our mailing list, as at least one or two people are already trying to compile the CVS source tree. Note that the CVS only contains the sources for Pre19, the sources for Pre20 and Pre21 are lost...

Don't worry, we're not dead. Jacek just decided to do a few internal betas, but here's a new public beta version.

Latest Beta version can be found in the download section. See History for details.

Please note that the catalog files are not up to date yet. You may encounter some strange/untranslated strings. This isn't a real problem though. If you don't like this, just delete the catalog files and use the English strings. Updated catalog files will be provided soon.
